There is a wide range of A Level subjects and alternative options like BTECs and Diplomas available. Our provision is constantly evolving and recent additions to the curriculum include Politics, Media Studies and Graphics.
We offer a wide range of A Level subjects and alternative options including our three new A Level options in Politics, Art and Design: Graphic communication and Media studies, a Diploma in Food Science and Nutrition, BTEC in PE, and the Level 3 Diploma in Criminology as well as obtaining an EPQ,TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) or CMI ( Chartered management institute qualifications) Our provision is constantly evolving to fit with the changing higher education sector and employment markets. We offer an enviably bespoke package and ensure we cater for the needs and interests of every individual.
Most students will study three A Level or equivalent subjects for two years and we encourage our students to add an EPQ to their portfolio, a qualification which is highly regarded by universities and carries additional UCAS points.
The key to our success is our ability to offer smaller groups and specialist tutorial style teaching. Research skills, exploration, discussion, and debate are at the heart of Sixth Form study, in preparation for both the increased demands of the courses and life beyond the classroom. This classroom approach translates into productive study time in Huxley House where our Sixth Formers are based. The recently refurbished house provides a modern learning environment in which to study as well as a place to relax with friends over coffee or lunch.
We pride ourselves in providing high quality bespoke UCAS references and extensive support during the application process. Our Sixth Formers have gone off to a wide range of impressive institutions to study a wide array of courses in recent years, from Fine Art at the University of Oxford to Chemistry at the University of Warwick. For those students wishing to follow alternative routes we work closely with them on their applications for foundation courses, gap years and apprenticeship applications.
