Boarding at Prior’s Field combines the nurturing care of a family home with the excitement, variety, and support of a thriving school environment. Modern boarding has never been better, and we are proud of our dedicated, experienced staff who provide exceptional pastoral care.

Our commitment to the well-being of our students was highlighted in the 2022 ISI inspection, which praised our boarders for “cultivating the caring ethos of the school successfully.” The report also noted the strong sense of community, with students frequently supporting each other and celebrating each other’s achievements.

We offer a range of flexible boarding options to meet the diverse needs of modern families, including full, weekly, half-weekly, and flexi boarding. Above all, we take pride in providing a genuine “home from home” experience.

Weekday evenings and weekends are thoughtfully structured to encourage personal growth and belonging. Academic support, club involvement, sports, volunteering and activities are balanced with essential downtime spent with friends and the boarding family. Our weekend programme is both enriching and fun, allowing our students to thrive in a relaxed yet supportive environment.

Our boarding houses are warm, welcoming, and filled with laughter. Whether celebrating successes or sharing challenges, every girl feels supported and never alone. Through close communication between boarding staff, parents, and the wider school community, we offer bespoke care tailored to each individual’s needs.

The balance between structured learning and fun co-curricular activities ensures that students can thrive both in their studies and personal growth.

Huxley House

Huxley House Boarding provides an enriching environment that fosters the growth of independent and resilient young people. Living away from home, boarders learn to manage their daily routines, responsibilities, and challenges, developing crucial life skills such as time management, self-discipline, and problem-solving. The close-knit community within the Boarding House helps to build strong, supportive relationships that teach teamwork, communication, and empathy. These connections not only offer a sense of belonging and emotional support but also prepares boarders for the complexities of the world beyond school. Huxley House boarding staff help guide the boarders by encouraging self-reliance and nurturing their confidence, equipping them with the resilience and leadership qualities they need to navigate future academic, professional, and personal endeavors.
