Delight as Students Celebrate A Level Results

It was a morning of elation at Prior’s Field, as the class of 2024 celebrated their exceptional A Level results across a breadth of subjects, securing places at Russell Group and top ranked UK universities.

The level of achievement delivered across a wide range of subjects has been significant, with over half of all students achieving a top grade (A*/A). Standout departments were Computer Science, Music, Russian, Textiles, Design and Technology, where all students achieved an outstanding 100% As and As.

Hester achieved three A*s and will be studying Chemistry at Warwick University, whilst Christina is embarking on a gap year, having gained two A*s and an A ahead of applying for Veterinary Science in 2025. Both students were the first Prior’s Field students to achieve a Gold Award in the Chemistry Olympiad earlier in the year. Christina’s Biology teacher, Kim Tooley commented:

“Christina is a quiet yet exceptionally gifted Biologist who thoroughly deserves to achieve her veterinary ambitions. We wish her all the very best for the future!“

Sky has completed her Art Foundation course and having gained two A*s and an A will be studying Fine Art at the University of Oxford.  Divine, Prior’s Field’s outgoing Head girl will also be studying at Warwick, having achieved an A* and two As with Biochemistry her chosen course. Divine’s teachers were thrilled with her success, with Head of Chemistry, Dr McDonald Smith commenting:

“I’ve been teaching A Level Chemistry at Prior’s Field for 23 years and I can’t think of another student who has worked harder or smarter in preparation for A Levels than Divine.“

There was great celebration as students achieved their desired university destinations, with Georgie achieving two A*s and an A to study Graphic Design at Loughborough University, Maisy gained similar grades to study Business Management at the University of Leeds, whilst Jess heads to the University of Bath to study Physics with three As to her name.

The breadth of courses and destinations were further highlighted, with three students gaining places at the University of Exeter, studying English, Finance, and Business and Management, whilst Matilda, a recent winner in the Young Fashion Designer UK competition achieved an A* in Textiles to study Fashion at Kingston University. Wider and diverse course selections include: Viking and Old Norse Studies at UCL (University College London), Economics at Cardiff University, Psychology with Criminology at Loughborough University, Law with Human Rights at University of Essex, Film Production at University of Gloucestershire and Politics and International Relations at University of Sussex.

Commenting on this year’s success, Prior’s Field Head, Mrs Tracy Kirnig said:

“I am delighted for our class of 2024 and the achievements of these brilliant students. Their hard work and dedication to their studies, whilst embracing the full experience of life at Prior’s Field is testament to their characters and their passion to studies. I wish them all the very best with the vast array of courses they will be studying and look forward to them keeping in touch with the Prior’s Field community, as they go on to make their mark on the world.”
