Academic Success
We punch well above our weight when it comes to academic success in examinations. Students consistently perform well above expectation.
GCSE Results 2025
There was great success to be celebrated at Prior’s Field, as the students enjoyed a superb set of GCSE results, with 61% of all entries achieving grades 7-9 (A/A*) and 42% of all awards being the top grades of 8 or 9 (A*s).
Once again, the “Prior’s Field difference” was highlighted by an outstanding value-added score (the difference between expected grades, set by national assessments, and actual grades), with each student achieving on average over 6 grades in total on their collective grades, above their expected grades.
Among the excellent achievements across a wide range of subjects, 87% of all students in Chemistry achieved Grades 7-9 (A/A*), whilst half of all students taking History achieved the highest possible grade of 9. Students in Drama achieved on average two grades above their expected grades, whilst both Music and History students achieved over a grade and half above expected on average.
Individual success was celebrated with Blue and Harry achieving a maximum result of straight 9s in all subjects – an outstanding achievement.
April achieved 100% Grades 8 and 9 (A*s) and will be going on to study History, English Literature, French and Economics in the Sixth Form at Prior’s Field. Her History teacher, Sam Garvey, Assistant Head Co-Curriculum and Sixth Form commented: “April’s superb grades are a result of her dedication and hard work over the last two years and I am delighted for her. Having seen her genuine love of learning in the classroom over the course of her History GCSE, I am so pleased she has chosen to continue with the subject here at A Level, alongside three other fantastic subjects, and she has an exciting two years ahead!”
Olivia celebrated her phenomenal success in achieving on average two grades higher in each of her subjects than was expected, and will be going on to study Drama, History and Psychology at Prior’s Field Sixth Form. Head of Drama, Penny Horton commented: “I’m delighted for Olivia, who has completely aced every single component from performance through to the written piece, on top of doing brilliantly in the productions this year as well. I’m thrilled she did so well across all her subjects and I’m obviously excited that she will continue to study Drama here at Prior’s Field, whilst taken a lead part in our production next term.”
Headteacher Ms Zoe Ireland expressed her great pride in the girls: “What an achievement by our GCSE students this year and we could not be more proud that their hard work and endeavor has been rewarded. It is particularly pleasing to see the level of achievement by all students, with the value-added scores once again outstanding. I would like to thank our dedicated teaching staff for their fantastic support and look forward to the girls continued achievements in the Sixth Form.”
Sixth Form Results 2025
At Prior’s Field, we believe that every student’s journey is unique and shaped by their talents, determination, and the support of a community that celebrates individuality. The Class of 2025 has once again shown what it means to aim high and shine brightly, with this year’s A-level results marking a moment of pride and joy for the whole school.
We are delighted to share that our students achieved 27% A*–A and 65% A*–B, both an increase on last year’s results. These outcomes reflect not only academic excellence, but also the deep commitment, resilience, and creativity our students bring to all they do.
Among the many successes is Sharanya one of our outgoing Deputy Head girls, who this summer completed her seven-year journey at Prior’s Field with an outstanding set of results A, A, A in Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Sharanya will be reading Medicine at the University of Southampton, a testament to her dedication, intellect, and consistent hard work throughout her time here. Her unwavering focus and quiet determination have inspired those around her, and we are thrilled to see her take the next step towards a career of care and service.
Our Head Girl, Arabella, has also been part of the Prior’s Field family since Year 7. It has been a privilege to watch her flourish from her very first day to her last, growing into a confident, capable young woman who leads with warmth and integrity. This year she achieved A, B, B in Art and Design, Business, and Psychology, and will go on to study Fashion Marketing at the University of Leeds. Arabella’s creative vision and entrepreneurial spirit will no doubt serve her well. She will be joined at Leeds by our Deputy Head Girl, Juliette, a fitting continuation of their shared leadership journey.
We also celebrate Matilda, whose love of literature and keen analytical mind have shaped her time at Prior’s Field. Matilda will take these qualities forward to the University of Exeter, where she will study English Literature – a course perfectly matched to her passion for words and ideas.
Beyond these individual stories, the Class of 2025 will be heading to universities across the UK to study a wide range of subjects. Destinations include Durham University to read Criminology, Swansea University for Business Management, Politics, Philosophy and Economics at Loughborough, Veterinary Medicine and Science at University of Surrey and other courses ranging from Fashion to Theology and Religion, Medicine, and Politics and Economics. This breadth of ambition reflects the individuality of our students and the diverse paths they will follow.
Headteacher Ms Zoe Ireland said:
“We are enormously proud of the Class of 2025 , not only for their impressive results, but for the young people they have become. They have embraced challenges, encouraged one another, and pursued their passions with energy and grace. Each of them leaves us with our admiration, our hope, and our love, ready to make their mark on the world.”
The Class of 2025 departs with a legacy of leadership, creativity, and kindness. They will always be part of the Prior’s Field story, and we cannot wait to see where their journeys take them next.
