We are high achievers in sport.
Mighty on the pitch. Supportive at every level.
Prior’s Field excels at sport. We may be a small school, but we are mighty on the pitch, with a sporting culture that combines ambition, encouragement and opportunity for every girl.
Sport is an integral part of daily life at Prior’s Field. Hockey, netball, cricket, gymnastics, tennis, athletics, cross country and swimming all feature within our curriculum, alongside a vibrant programme of competitive fixtures, training sessions and after-school clubs. Whether girls are discovering a sport for the first time or striving for county, regional or national success, there is a place for everyone to belong, grow and thrive.
Encouraging Every Girl to Get Involved
We believe sport should be positive, confidence-building and enjoyable. For girls who may not initially feel drawn to sport, our approach focuses on encouragement, choice and teamwork rather than pressure. Smaller group sessions, varied activities and supportive coaching help girls build skills at their own pace, develop resilience and discover the joy of being active.
Our inclusive team structure ensures that girls of all abilities can represent the school, contribute meaningfully and feel the pride of being part of a team. Sport at Prior’s Field is about participation, confidence and wellbeing as much as it is about competition.
Taking Talent to the Next Level
For girls with a strong passion and aptitude for sport, Prior’s Field offers clear pathways to excellence. Specialist coaching, extended training opportunities and competitive fixtures allow talented athletes to refine their skills and challenge themselves at a higher level.
We are immensely proud of our sporting achievements, including:
- Under 16 Hockey National Champions, reflecting our deep passion and commitment to hockey
- U15 Cricket – Surrey Soft Ball Champions, four years in a row
- Tennis – Surrey Schools Winners and South East Regional Finalists, supported by an extensive year-round tennis programme led by a top coach and enhanced through external coaching opportunities
- Welcoming international netball star and world-class coach Connie Francis, who has a distinguished career representing Jamaica, captaining her national side, and coaching teams to historic success on the global stage,
Building the Next Generation of Sportswomen
Sport at Prior’s Field develops far more than physical ability. Our girls learn leadership, teamwork, discipline and resilience – qualities that stay with them long after the final whistle. From first-time players to elite performers, every girl is supported to be confident, ambitious and proud of her achievements.
Come and see our girls in action and discover how Prior’s Field is building the next generation of sportswomen.
