We are delighted with this year’s iGCSE Maths results. Our Higher tier top set achieved outstanding outcomes, with 100% achieving grades 9–7, including 50% achieving grades 8–9 and 31% securing the top grade 9. A special mention to Larni and Sofia who scored 100% on their paper 2 and above 95% on paper 1, well done girls! Many of these students have progressed onto the AQA Further Maths pathway, with several continuing towards the additional qualification in the summer series. Alongside this, our Foundation tier students sat the exam early in order to support their focus across other subjects.
A major department priority last term was improving confidence and accuracy in solving equations. Encouragingly, our November entry analysis suggests this work is translating into strong outcomes, with students achieving consistently high performance (91–93%) across core equation topics, including linear equations, simultaneous equations and rearranging to standard form. These key algebraic skills that underpin success across the full iGCSE Maths course.
Overall, around three quarters of candidates achieved a pass grade. We are extremely proud of the hard work, maturity and determination shown by all students. We are also proud of our sixth form students who achieved success on their Foundation tier today, showing real perseverance and commitment in securing valuable qualifications alongside their post-16 studies.
These outcomes reflect excellent teaching, strong student commitment, and a clear focus on securing the best possible outcomes for every learner.
