Rachel Brickhill

@rachel.arts

We are delighted to celebrate the success of Prior’s Field alumna Rachel (2020-2023), whose portrait painting has been selected for exhibition in the 2026 Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer Portrait Award at the National Portrait Gallery in London.

Formerly known as the BP Portrait Award, the competition is one of the most prestigious portrait painting awards in the world, attracting entries from across the globe. This year, nearly 1,500 artists from 63 countries submitted work, with just 52 artists selected for the final exhibition.

Rachel’s chosen portrait subject is fellow Prior’s Field alumna Saskia F, making this achievement an especially meaningful one for our school community. The selected artwork will be displayed at the National Portrait Gallery as part of the award exhibition, which runs from 25 June to 7 October 2026 and is free to visit.
