Head, Zoe Ireland, has these reflections of the inspection findings:
I am delighted with the findings of the ISI inspection and would like to express my sincere gratitude to our staff, whose commitment and professionalism have enabled the report to reflect so accurately the true character of our school. The inspection recognises, page after page, the strength of our ethos: a culture in which individuality is celebrated, respect for others is deeply embedded, and pupils are socially responsible and confident in who they are.
The report highlights that our girls have a clear understanding of values such as democracy, equality and right and wrong. They are thoughtful, articulate and engaged, able to debate world issues with confidence, and they contribute fully to school life, whether through leadership roles such as the school council, involvement in sport including hockey teams, or a wide range of co-curricular activities.
Inspectors recognised the high quality of teaching across the school. Our teachers are described as highly skilled and knowledgeable in their subjects, with a curriculum that is regularly reviewed to ensure it is broad, well balanced and supports strong academic progress for all pupils. Teaching is carefully adapted to meet individual needs, and pupils with SEND are particularly well supported, enabling them to achieve well alongside their peers.
The report also affirms that pupils fulfil both their academic and personal potential because leaders continually reflect on and improve provision, ensuring that all pupils benefit across every aspect of school life. Inspectors noted the positive, respectful relationships that underpin learning and wellbeing throughout the school.
Finally, the report confirms the school’s strong culture of care and safeguarding. Behaviour is courteous and respectful, bullying is rare, and when concerns do arise they are dealt with swiftly and effectively, ensuring that pupils feel safe, supported and heard.
My sincere thanks goes to our entire school community for their openness, commitment and shared belief in Prior’s Field, which enabled the inspection to produce such a positive and inspiring report.
